Project Lead The Way (PLTW)

is the leading provider of rigorous and innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). STEM education is at the heart of today’s high-tech, high-skill global economy.

St. Peter-Marian became a part of this hands-on program to challenge our students to develop critical thinking and to sharpen their problem solving skills. Currently, Eighth Grade students are required to complete Gateway to Technology, a two module course consisting of Design and Modeling (DM) and Automation and Robotics. Two other PLTW courses are offered: Introduction to Engineering and Principles of Engineering.

A National Examination is administered for each course. Over the next two years, courses will be introduced at the high school level, concluding with the Capstone project that will make St. Peter-Marian the first Catholic school in the nation to acquire PLTW certification.
